DEMSLab 5.5 Release Notes
• The bonded-sphere plus model has been added to more accurately describe flexible particles, especially fibers and straw.
• The measurement of total mass, total volume, and bulk density is added to the tester.
• The breakage algorithm has been improved, which can significantly enhance its stability and accuracy.
• The default value of material parameter e infinity in the breakage model has been changed from 7.01 to 7.0.
• The breakage types in the breakage model have been changed to include three types: polyhedron, polyhedron and sphere, and sphere.
• The problem of non-conservation of mass during the breakage of spherical and superellipsoid particles in the breakage model has been solved.
• The function of breaking particles into spheres has been added to the user defined breakage model.
• The automatic simplification function for importing wall files (used for DEMSLab - RecurDyn coupling) has been added.
• The output of the number of triangular faces after simplifying of the device geometry file has been added.
• The polyhedron contact algorithm has been improved to enhance computational efficiency.
• A new User C Function DROPLET_CFD_CELL is added.
• The volume fraction of the discrete droplets is no longer calculated when doing CFD-DEM coupling simulation.
• DEMSLab has been improved to better support Visual Studio 2022.
• The screen output warning for deleting particles due to over contact has been changed from outputting once per time step to outputting once per monitor data reporting interval.
• The data structure has been improved to reduce memory consumption.
• The bonded-sphere dialog box has been improved.
• The DEMSLab Viewer has been improved.
• Many other small bugs have been cleared.
• Improve the usability of some GUIs.
